The Calphalon Dutch oven is one of the best Dutch ovens available. Their reputation is well deserved for their high quality and one of a kind nonstick cooking surface, which evenly cooks. A lifetime warranty is standard. Here are a few examples of the best and most popular Calphalon Dutch ovens available.
The first Calphalon ONE Infused Dutch Oven is one of the top ovens available anywhere. So that it can conduct heat consistently resulting in evenly cooked food, it is made of heavy grade aluminum. Its hard anodized surface is coated with a nonstick polymer. The food sears and browns well without the hassle of a difficult cleanup. Cleaning burned or charred food off of a Dutch oven is a task to be avoided if possible; something the Calphalon oven allows.
Measuring in at 8.5 quarts, it is safe up to 700 degrees Fahrenheit. On the exterior it has riveted handles, and a stainless steel lid. All of these soap and water easily cleans. A Scotchbrite nylon pad is also recommended by the manufacturer for cleaning.
The Calphalon Unison Nonstick Oven is another great option. The SEAR nonstick cooking surface comes standard on this model, trapping in the food's natural flavor. This Calphalon Dutch oven is great for cooking vegetables, braised beef, or pan sauces. The same heavy gauge aluminum is used to in this model's pot. The lid, however, is made of glass with an aluminum circle around the edge, but it is still safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. For the reasonable price this unit sells for, it also includes a nylon spoon and black towel.
The Calphalon nonstick surface is worth mentioning. The Calphalon Dutch ovens (just like all the other Calphalon products) do not have the traditional problem most nonstick surfaces do, that is, not allowing the food to stick to the pan long enough to sear well. Customers are enthusiastic about the scrumptious and aesthetically pleasing food that can be produced with these Calphalon products while still being easy to clean.
The final Calphalon Dutch oven in this review is the Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 8.5 Oven. While this model may not have all the bells and whistles, it still provides quick and even cooking. As always, it comes with the stainless steel handles and glass lid. It can still take temperatures up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. This economy model oven is the ideal if you want a basic, quality, reasonably priced product. They also make great gifts, and if one takes some time to look, they can be found online. (Hint - Amazon.com is a good place to begin)
